Review Of The Best Scopes For Your AR 15 Rifle

jgarx600op[1]If you are looking for the best rifle scope for you AR 15, you have just hit the mark, as in this article you will find some useful information concerning the best AR 15 scopes and their reviews.

The first question for us would be what is the AR 15 rifle itself? The AR-15 is reputed to be a lightweight, magazine-fed (an intermediate cartridge), air-cooled rifle.  It has lots of different modifications, including multiple semi-automatic and select-fire versions.

The second one is what rifle scope does the AR 15 need? The answer is a properly designed AR 15 scope, which is commonly manufactured with telescopic lenses offering you the most accurate targeting.

The best scope for the AR 15 can magnify the target in a way to put it on the same focal plane with your eyes. Such scopes magnify images by refracting light rays through multiple scope lenses.

There are hundreds of various rifle scopes for the AR 15 in the market, ranging from Nikon to Vortex, but here are features you will need to pay attention to, except a manufacturer name:

  • Magnification, which helps you to see targets clearly even at long distances. There are two types of it: fixed and variable. Fixed magnification has constant magnification parameter, variable one is has a number of ranges, thus is more adjustable.
  • Reticle, which is crossed lines in the middle of your scope, has many variants. Some of them are in duplex form (good for camouflage operations), others in dot form either target one or Mil-dot (the best for distant contact or sniper operations). Every type is acceptable and depends mainly on the field of usage.
  • Eye Relief means the distance between the scope and your eye. This distance should not be small as the tough recoil could give you a black eye in case your eye is too close to the lens.

After all, the main thing you should concentrate on when choosing a rifle scope is the best combination of your shooting needs and capabilities the rifle scope offers you at a reasonable price.

Nikon ProStaff 3-9×40 Black Matte (BDC) Rifle scope

Nikon ProStaff 3-9 x 40 Black Matte Riflescope (BDC) This scope is the first one to be reviewed in our article. It is regarded as one of the best rifle scopes for your AR 15 at a price that definitely fits the budget of any customer. Its main advantage is a fully multi-coated optics that offers up to 98 percent of the light transmission and guarantees an exact brightness throughout all the day despite any weather. Besides, the rifle scope is also water- and fogproof.

The feature you will probably like is a Zero-reset turret (with the adjusting knob) offering you easy field adjustments.

Mounting rings are not included, so in order to place the scope on your rifle, you will need the cantilever mounts (for better eye relief) or ordinary high mounts.

One more disadvantage discovered by some reviewers is that the view might become blurry at a distance closer than 25 yards.

  1. Fantastic write up Marksman, I am definitely a big fan of the Nikon Prostaff, it’s such a great scope for the price. However, for a more expensive scope I prefer the Aimpoint pro patrol.

    Thanks,
    Geoff.
